The work is performed at designated sites of The Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD). The Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division, Dahlgren Laboratory is a premier research and development center that serves as a specialty site for weapon system integration. This position is being posted in anticipation of a bid award, where CIPS is aiming to meet the IT operational needs of the NSWCDD.
POSITION/TITLE: Senior Physical Infrastructure Specialist
EMPLOYMENT STATUS: Regular/Full Time
POSITION'S HOURS/SHIFT: 40 hours, M-F between the hours of 7AM-5:30 PM
REPORTS TO: Program/Project Manager
CLEARANCE: Secret
LOCATION: Dahlgren, VA
POSITION SUMMARY:
Computer Integration & Programming Solutions Corp. (CIPS), located in Bethesda, MD is seeking Senior level Physical Infrastructure Specialist. The Infrastructure Specialist is responsible for providing subject matter expertise in multiple customer environments surrounding their individual IT Infrastructures (service, support and projects and will be the primary point of contact and directly interface with the client.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide expertise for IT infrastructure and related services in accordance with contractually established terms and conditions and established technical standards
Provide technical input, solutions, and recommendations for improvement
Monitor service delivery compliance to budget, quality standards, and customers and/or internal business user requirements.
Provide IT infrastructure and/or application infrastructure lifecycle technical support, including
Planning, installation, on-going management/monitoring troubleshooting, following operational policies & processes compliant with industry standards
Apply subject matter knowledge to solve common and complex business issues within established guidelines and recommends appropriate alternatives.
Provide technical assistance to users to include troubleshooting and assistance with unresolved issues
Participate in the development and maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) covering all User Assistance activity.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Six years of experience in installing and maintaining network switches, routers, fiber optic, coaxial and twisted-pair cable plants, and associated software.
Knowledge of network and hardware installations, and virtual private servers, cabling, switching, VPN installation and setup, router and firewall installation and maintenance for hardware
Working knowledge of local area network (LAN) test equipment , and testing of networks/electrical systems.
Strong hardware & software troubleshooting skills
Must be familiar with Department of Defense networking and security accreditation requirements
Expert communication skills (written and verbal) with attention to detail on customer records
EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent IT experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
CERTIFICATES & LICENSES REQUIRED:
BICSI ITS (Information Technology Systems) Installer 2 (Copper and Fiber).
